    Good evening folks,

Just wanted to give my thoughts on a couple of games I would love to see remastered. Someone has already posted about one of them on the forums, but I wanted to make my own post anyway. Firstly, Machines: Wired for War. Fantastic game, spent many, many hours playing it, and would absolutely love to see it remastered. Secondly, and considerably more importantly, the Shadowman games. Words cannot begin to express how I felt about those games, they were definitely my favourite games between 1999 and 2002, just a shame that with all the remastering going on in the video game world, they haven't even been openly considered. Please, please consider this for the future, as I know I won't be the only person that will buy them as soon as they should become available!

    Cheers

Remaster Unreal? Seriously? Epic wouldn't allow that. Besides Unreal looks great even today.
Drakan deserves a remaster in my humble opinion.

When it comes to remaster. I would ask, "Does anyone have ownership on that said IP?". If yes, why would you bother with a remaster on someone IP? Sure, you could buy the right from a said company. It not really a reliable solution. You might want to think about who really has ownership for a second.

You are correct. Sometimes it's really hard to obtain ownership of an IP. Altho there are ways to overcome legal matters. I'm sure NightDive have their fair share of headache when trying to dig up old games. There are so many games of the past who deserve a re-release... So many...

    Agree
While even the more difficult games to obtain are regulary released on GOG, i believe that the main barrier is the Amazon Website or secondhand markets influence on gaming market.

That too but I meant that some games are hard to "obtain" because of their developers being "dead". This brings complications.
For example Turok's devs are dead (mostly by their own fault), imagine that the source code is lost forever, the PCs that the game was developed on are long gone and you need it to examine it and figure out what to do with it. So in order to make any changes to their game you need to have a programmer skills at their highest. presumably reverse engineering. Adding features to a old game is no simple task. You really need to know what you do.
I personally wouldn't buy a game from Amazon (I'm not american) instead I'd buy it from a trusted developer, Night Dive for example if it's a remaster with additional features not just a simple re-release with widescreen support only. GOG puts good stuff out but NightDive goes further. That's why I love their releases... Oh... I've waited so much for Turok2... Thank you!!!

We have limited bandwidth for games we want to work on - Nocturne is still on the list, but priorities are shifting depending on a number of factors - for instance, if we have secured source code for a specific title it moves up the list.

It's always nice to see a reply like that... [bow]
Nocturne... I remember this game. For me it felt somewhat broken. The first time I saw it thought it was something like Resident Evil on steroids. Later on when I played it was boring. For it's time the gfx were awesome but something was lacking for me. The people behind it developed Blood Rayne another franchise that went under unfortunately.
Can we have some sort of a list of games you have plans for? Or maybe it's a company secret? It would be nice to know what to expect from ND.

Nocturne would be another fantastic one as well. Great atmosphere! I totally agree!

There are a couple of other ones I would suggest too, namely Rebel Moon Rising (1997) and possibly Rebel Moon (1995) if they can be found.
Basically, the premise of the games being that you're a member of the rebelling Free State of Luna, and have to fight off the United Nations 'Bluesuits' due to political conflicts back on Earth. Not bad story, as well as the concept of a Luna colony not being a well touched on subject, in spite of all the sci-fi releases in recent years (to my knowledge anyway).

Here's some links for you guys if you're interested in further reading:

Here's also another link of a couple of videos of both Rebel Moon and Rebel Moon Rising, as well as some pics:

Okay, I'm back, sorry for the long awful reply, and thank you for Mr.Kick :).
    (response to what you said)
See this is why I'm playing the waiting game, because of copyright issues, and also when it comes to nocturne from how difficult the game is to play now on today's computers ( your in developing company) or get a company to rebuild nocturne from the ground up. Other than that its wonderful to hear that its still on the list :)

Just for the record, there is already a remastering of Unreal 1. Just look up patch 227. It is a unofficial patch made by a community of modders, but it updates the rendering engine and adds a lot of next gen graphics, including 4K support. There's also some HQ models/textures you can download separately for it, too. The current stable is 227I, but a 227j is in the work, you can follow up on the updates on the developers Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Krull0r

Just my two cents. If Cryteck declares bankruptcy, can you guys try to acquire the right to the Timesplitter series? I would pay legitimate good amount of money if you could make a remaster of all the older series for Console and PC.
